Qatar's Minister of Education and Higher Education, H.E. Lolwah Al Khater, has been honoured with the Arab Woman Excellence Shield for Social Responsibility 2026 in recognition of her outstanding leadership and contributions to education and community development at the national, regional, and international levels. The award was presented during the Arab Women and Social Responsibility Forum held in Cairo.
The honour was accepted on her behalf by Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim, Counsellor at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Egypt and the Permanent Delegation of Qatar to the League of Arab States.
The forum was organised by the League of Arab States in collaboration with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility as part of the fifth edition of the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award.
During the forum, Randa Rizk, Secretary-General of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships and sharing expertise to advance sustainable development across the Arab world.
She described education as a key pillar of human development and stressed that empowering women in leadership roles is essential for achieving long-term progress.
The event also recognised Dr. Rania Yousri, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education, for her community responsibility initiative that promotes social responsibility within private schools and kindergartens.
The forum brought together diplomats, policymakers, and representatives from regional and international organisations to discuss best practices in social responsibility and women's empowerment.
